Beauty goes beyond physical appearance

Beauty for many may seem like a superficial aspect of life, but for Jessica Bonilla, better known as Jess Bonilla, this abstract notion of human existence goes beyond physical appearance. Jessica specializes in subtle transformations and with her talent helps women to bring to light the best version of their natural complexion. She sees beauty as anything that can improve her life. “Beauty is how you are as a person and how you make others feel about themselves,” she says.

Jessica’s innate passion for beauty, fashion, art, and science took her from a young age to a career as a model in her hometown of San Cristobal, in Venezuela’s western Andes. During her work and studies at the agency to which she belonged, she learned endless techniques of make-up, catwalk styles, photo trends, social etiquette, and nutrition, as well as basic skin care. She worked as a model for a couple of years and participated in fashion campaigns and shows and editorials until she was invited to participate in one of the most important beauty contests in her city. She won first place and got many contracts to continue working as a model. Jessica says that while working as a model, her friends and family always asked her to make them up for special events and she always offered her opinion to enhance their natural beauty.

At the same time, she completed a bachelor’s degree to become a biology and chemistry teacher. She moved to the United States later due to the tense political situation in her home country and continued her training in the beauty industry attending classes in professional makeup by beauty gurus such as Mario Dedivanovic, Roberto Ramos, and Cristina Pilo. Jessica also attended Boca Beauty Academy in Boca Raton, Florida, to complete her Aesthetics degree. She is now living in South Florida and decided to take her passion for beauty and teaching to the next level by offering her knowledge and experience as a makeup artist and expert in skin care.

When Jessica is not creating looks for her clients, she is creating content for her blog and social networking ac-counts or teaching science lessons to her student’s be-cause her love of science remains intact.
